Olga Surikova

Soprano Olga Surikova, a native of Freising, will join the International Opera Studio of the Vienna State Opera from the 2026/27 season.

In 2022, she won second prize at the Lions Music Prize for Voice in Regensburg. In November 2024, she received the First Förderpreis as well as the Special Prize of the BDG Foundation at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang in Berlin and appeared in the prizewinners’ concert with the Staatskapelle Berlin at the Berlin State Opera. In 2024, she was also awarded a scholarship by the Deutscher Bühnenverein.

Her musical career began in childhood: at the age of ten, she gained her first stage experience as a member of the Children’s Chorus of the Bavarian State Opera. She later began her musical training at the University of Music and Theatre Munich.

In May 2025, she made her first appearance in Haydn’s oratorio The Creation in Munich, singing the roles of the angel Gabriel and Eve. That same year, she made her debut as Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at Munich’s Reaktorhalle, where she had appeared the previous year as First Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.

In 2023, Olga Surikova had already appeared in a production of Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen at the Bavarian State Opera. As part of a university project, she also sang Despina (Così fan tutte), accompanied by the orchestra of the Gärtnerplatztheater.
