Opening Hours

Admission to the building for performances begins one hour before the start of the performance.
Outside of a performance or guided tour, only our box office and our opera café are freely accessible.

Box Offices
Tickets can be purchased at any time in our ticket store. If you want to come by in person, you can buy tickets at our box offices at the times listed.
The box offices can be found in each of the federal theaters (Vienna State Opera, Volksoper, Burgtheater). You can buy tickets for any of the three federal theaters, regardless of the location.
At the Vienna State Opera, the box offices are located in the opera foyer.

Our standing room box office always opens 80 minutes before the start of the performance.
The standing room box office has its own entrance on Operngasse. The entrance is located under the arcades of our house.
For matinees, standing room tickets are issued at the box office in the opera foyer.
During the summer, our subscription office can be reached by phone Monday through Thursday from 09:00 to 14:00 at +43 1 51444 2678.
