A warm welcome!

Since the 2025/26 season, the artist and Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alessandra Ferri, an internationally acclaimed dancer who has worked with the most important choreographers and performed at the most important international theaters, has been leading the Vienna State Ballet. Understanding the company as a large organism with various branches in the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper Vienna, its program aims to manifest classical ballet in the present day and reflect its entire spectrum. Contemporary choreographies meet masterpieces from the historical ballet canon, two contemporary ballets celebrate their Viennese premiere and the ballet gala, whose focus changes every year and which is dedicated to the legendary choreographer Jerome Robbins in the 2026/27 season, becomes an annual fixture in the program.
