Your membership contribution directly funds projects to open up the house, as well as the targeted support of young talent in the Opera Studio, the Opera School or various outreach initiatives. NEST, the New State Opera, is also significantly supported by your sponsorship contribution.

With a membership for the Official Circle of Friends, you can experience the Vienna State Opera from the inside out. Depending on your membership level, you can expect different benefits.
Our Membership Levels
Just €120 per year gives you the right of first refusal for numerous performances in the new season as well as free admission to events related to artistic life at the theater. The higher the membership fee, the more extensive your benefits will be.
In any case, you help to keep the enthusiasm for the art form of opera alive. Becoming a member is very easy - simply click on the level you want and complete your membership conveniently in our ticket shop.

Understanding Music with Jendrik Springer
Shortly before each opera premiere, Jendrik Springer, Musical Assistant at the State Opera, offers a music-based introduction. At the piano and in conversation with a member of our dramaturgy team, he will explain the central features of the score.

As a young member, the Opera Studio of the Vienna State Opera invites you to get to know the up-and-coming talent. The evening will end with rehearsals and a pleasant discussion with Michael Kraus, Artistic Director of the Opera Studio, and the Friends of the Vienna State Opera team.

During a walk in the immediate vicinity of the Vienna State Opera, connections between Vienna and important composers are explored. Together with our dramaturges, central stages of their musical lives and highlights are examined in more detail.
Tour of the Decoration Workshop
The decoration workshops of ART for ART Theaterservice GmbH are among the largest in Europe. As a member, you will receive an exclusive tour of the workshops, where backdrops and decorations for the Vienna State Opera are also created.
Tour of the Costume Archive
Immerse yourself in over 60 years of stage history! The Art for Art costume archive is the largest in Europe with over 250,000 costumes from all eras and genres: from futuristic to historical, from productions of the Vienna State Opera and other theaters.
