Whether very close to the orchestra in row 1, or leg-free in row 14 - the seats in the stalls have a lot to offer!

Divided into a total of 18 rows, there are 488 seats in the stalls.

Each seat has its own subtitle screen with a choice of up to 8 different languages - German, English and the original language of the opera are always available.

The standing area is at roughly the same height as the stage, which is why there is a very clear view from here. You are therefore "at eye level" with the singers or dancers.

Due to the excellent view, the standing area is one of our most popular seats.

Our box offices offer you the opportunity to buy and pre-order tickets.

It is also possible to buy tickets for the Vienna State Opera at the box offices of the other federal theaters. The box offices are open at the following times:

On public holidays, our box offices are open between 10:00 and 13:00.

Whether coffee, bar or aperitivo: in our café you can enjoy selected specialties directly in the Vienna State Opera. The café is open to the public and can also be visited without a ticket for a performance.

Standing room tickets for the day's performance can be purchased here from 80 minutes before the start of the performance - even if there is no more standing room available in our online ticket store. A fixed contingent of standing room is always available here.

Each of our standing places costs a maximum of €18 and is equipped with its own subtitle screen.

You can buy drinks, sandwiches or small snacks at our interval buffets before the performance or during a break.

You can also reserve a table in advance. To do this, you can either order via the online reservation tool or directly at the buffet of your choice from the moment you enter.

Our break buffets are operated by our catering partner Gerstner.

If available, tickets for the performance of the day are sold at our box office.

Children's tickets can be collected here up to 30 minutes before the start of the performance. If the children's tickets are not collected in time, they are released for free sale and can be purchased at the regular ticket price.

The box office is always open from admission (one hour before the start of the performance).

Our subscription & order office is closed on weekends, 24.12, 31.12, Good Friday and on the day of the Opera Ball.

Our tour ticket office always opens 30 minutes before the start of each tour. Please note that only remaining places can be purchased here.

To be sure of being able to take part in a guided tour, we recommend buying tickets in advance via our online ticket store.

All cloack rooms in our building are available to you free of charge.

Coats, jackets and bulky bags and items (e.g. rucksacks, suitcases, umbrellas, musical instruments) must be left in our checkrooms.

If you have a seat in a box, you can use your own checkroom right there - convenient and exclusive.

The Gustav Mahler Hall is one of our state rooms and is more than just a intermission room.

Various events - from auditions for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra to concerts and debutante dances for the Opera Ball - have a permanent place in the Gustav Mahler Hall.

The Marble Hall, just like the Mahler Hall, is one of our largest intermission rooms.

The Schwindfoyer is the only intermission room that has been preserved in its original state.

The Schwindloggia can be reached via the Schwindfoyer. In the summer months, the loggia is open to the Ringstrasse, while in the winter months it is glazed.

Once the emperor's retreat, today a special room for press conferences, interviews, honors and awards.

Members of our official circle of friends can also hire the tea salon as an exclusive break room or for receptions.
