Elmina Hasan
The Azerbaijani mezzo-soprano Elmina Hasan is regarded as one of the most captivating young singers of her generation, thanks to her great vocal expressiveness and immediate stage presence.
In the current season, she makes a number of important debuts, including her house debut as Carmen at the Vienna State Opera, as well as Siébel in Faust at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège and Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Opera in Rome. She returns to the Bavarian State Opera as Lola in Cavalleria rusticana and appears there again as Fenena in Nabucco and as Maddalena in Rigoletto.
She also makes her North American debut as Olga in Eugene Onegin at the Santa Fe Opera Festival.
Recent highlights include Olga at La Scala in Milan, Marchesa Melibea in Il viaggio a Reims at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as well as Fenena both at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste and at the Salle Gaveau in Paris. She has also appeared as Dorabella at the State Opera in Azerbaijan.
She is a multiple prizewinner at international competitions, including several awards at the prestigious Operalia Competition.
