Amanda Eyles
Amanda Eyles has worked as a Rehearsal Director, Ballet Master, Stager and Benesh Choreologist for over 35 years. She has collaborated with a wide range of choreographers and directors, on both new creations and re-staging of existing productions, whilst holding full-time positions with the Royal Ballet London, Birmingham Royal Ballet, English National Ballet and Scottish Ballet.
Since 2010 she has worked freelance, teaching and staging the work of a number of choreographers in the UK and internationally. She has developed a close association with Wayne McGregor, notating and assisting on his creations with the Royal Ballet and staging his work on companies worldwide, including Paris Opera Ballet, La Scala Milan and American Ballet Theatre. She is actively involved with Benesh International and is passionate about the value of BMN (Benesh Movement Notation) as a tool for capturing and passing on movement information. In the 2021/22 season, Amanda Eyles staged Alexei Ratmansky’s 24 Préludes with the Vienna State Ballet at the Vienna Volksoper, followed by Wayne McGregor’s Yugen in 2025/26 at the Vienna State Opera.
