Rosa Pierro

Rosa Pierro was born in Rome and trained at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera as well as at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza and the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. In the 2015/16 season, she was a member of the Youth Company of the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera. During this time, she performed in productions of the Vienna State Ballet, including Manuel Legris’ Le Corsaire, Jerome Robbins’ The Four Seasons, Pierre Lacotte’s La Sylphide, Harald Lander’s Études, Rudolf Nureyev’s Swan Lake and Vesna Orlić’s Carmina Burana.

She subsequently joined the Hungarian and Polish National Ballets, appeared as Principal Guest Soloist with Ballet Ireland, and most recently danced as a Soloist with Aalto Ballett Essen. In the 2025/26 season, she joined the Vienna State Ballet as a Soloist.

Her repertoire includes leading roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty as well as in Ben Van Cauwenbergh’s Carmen/Boléro and Romeo and Juliet. She has also performed soloist parts in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling, Wayne McGregor’s Infra and Ronald Hynd’s The Merry Widow.
In addition, she has appeared as a guest artist at numerous international ballet galas.

Her awards include the Excellent Dancers Grand Prix of the Evgenij Polyakov Association, bronze medals at the International Ballet Competition in Korea, the WienWeltWettbewerb 2014, and the 5th International Ballet Competition in Beijing as well as first prize at VIBE 2016.
