Alain Altinoglu
Alain Altinoglu is Music Director of the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, Chief Conductor of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, and Artistic Director of the Festival International de Colmar. In all three positions, he is celebrated for his visionary leadership, compelling interpretations, and innovative programming. In 2025, he was named Conductor of the Year at the International Opera Awards.
Most recently, he appeared at the Salzburg Festival with two concert performances of Werther. Highlights of the 2026/27 season include his return to the Vienna State Opera for a new production of Eine florentinische Tragödie/Herzog Blaubarts Burg, as well as productions of Wozzeck and Boris Godunov in Brussels.
With the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, he presents a wide-ranging repertoire throughout the season and tours Europe and Asia. He also returns to the BBC Proms in London and once again appears with the Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, and Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.
