Vida Mikneviciute
The Lithuanian soprano Vida Miknevičiūtė is considered one of the leading lyric-dramatic sopranos of her generation.
Her repertoire includes Sieglinde (Die Walküre), the title role in Salome, Chrysothemis (Elektra), Lisa (The Queen of Spades), Marietta (Die tote Stadt), Senta (The Flying Dutchman), the title role in Jenůfa, Elsa (Lohengrin), Elisabeth (Tannhäuser), and Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow).
She is a regular guest at the world’s leading stages, including the Bayreuth Festival, Aix-en-Provence in France, La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera and the Berlin State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Hamburg State Opera, Semperoper Dresden, the Finnish National Opera, Zurich Opera House, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Italy, Santa Fe Opera in Santa Fe, USA, Victorian Opera Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia, as well as with the Berlin Philharmonic.
Highlights of the 2025/26 season include her debut in the title role of Fedora at Deutsche Oper Berlin and appearances as Chrysothemis at the Finnish National Opera.
Vida Miknevičiūtė studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and at the University of Music in Leipzig. After engagements at the International Opera Studio Zurich and the Opera Studio of Hamburg State Opera, she was a member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Mainz from 2011 to 2020.
