Kristina Mkhitaryan
The multiple prizewinner Kristina Mkhitaryan is a graduate of the Galina Vishnevskaya Theatre Studio in Moscow.
Highlights of her career include Violetta (La traviata) at the Royal Opera House, a role she has since performed with great success at major opera houses around the world; Gilda in Rigoletto with Opera Australia and Hamburg State Opera; as well as the title role in Alcina at the Opéra National de Lorraine and Armida in Rinaldo at the Glyndebourne Festival.
She has also appeared as Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de perles) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, at the Vienna State Opera in productions such as La traviata, L'elisir d'amore and Turandot, and at the Metropolitan Opera in Gianni Schicchi and La Bohème (Musetta).
Recently, she made several important role debuts: in Maria Stuarda at Dutch National Opera, as Tatyana in Eugene Onegin at the Liceu in Barcelona, and as Mimì (La Bohème) at the Met. She has also sung Tatyana in London and at the Teatro Real in Madrid, and the title role in a concert performance of Maria Padilla at the Teatro de la Maestranza.
