Lisette Oropesa
Lisette Oropesa is one of the most sought-after lyric coloratura sopranos of her generation and appears at the world’s leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Opéra national de Paris and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Her repertoire focuses on bel canto opera, the works of Mozart and Handel, and French opera. In 2024, she was named Singer of the Year at the International Opera Awards.
Her recent successes include Elvira (I puritani) at the Met, the Paris Opera and Covent Garden, as well as the title role in Maria Stuarda in Madrid and at the Salzburg Festival, a role she reprises at the Met in December 2026. She has appeared as Violetta (La traviata) at the Met, Covent Garden, the Paris Opera, the Teatro Real, the Arena di Verona and the Vienna State Opera. Other signature roles include Lucia di Lammermoor, Gilda (Rigoletto), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and the title role in Massenet’s Manon.
In the 2026/27 season, she makes her role debuts as Norma at the Savonlinna Opera Festival and as Liù (Turandot) at the Arena di Verona. She also sings Alcina at the Royal Opera House and the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples and gives recitals at the Salzburg Festival and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Lisette Oropesa made her Vienna State Opera debut in 2020 as Konstanze and has since returned as Gilda, Lucia, Violetta and Mathilde (Guillaume Tell); in 2022, she also gave a solo recital at the house. In June 2027, she makes her role debut as Giulietta in a new production of I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Vienna State Opera.
