Anastasia Bartoli
Italian soprano Anastasia Bartoli combines lyrical expression with dramatic intensity. Rossini’s repertoire, in the tradition of Isabella Colbran, holds a central place in her career. At the Rossini Opera Festival, she sang the title role in Ermione in 2024. She also appeared at the festival’s season openings in 2023 as Cristina in Eduardo e Cristina and in 2025 in the title role of Zelmira. She has performed Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai at the Rai Auditorium »Arturo Toscanini«, and at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
Among her major roles is Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, which she has sung at the Vienna State Opera, the Tokyo Spring Festival and the Opéra de Marseille. She has appeared as Abigaille in Nabucco in Berlin, at the opening of the Macerata Opera Festival’s 62nd season at the Sferisterio, and at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.
Her repertoire also includes the title roles in Tosca and Suor Angelica; Mimì in La Bohème; Amelia in Simon Boccanegra; Elvira in Ernani; Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito; Lucrezia Contarini in I due Foscari; Odabella in Attila; Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni; Desdemona in Otello; Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte; and Nedda in Pagliacci. She has also sung the title role in Cilea’s Gloria, Vera in Mascagni’s Sì, Olga in Fedora and Hanna Glawari in Die lustige Witwe.
Recent engagements include Lady Macbeth at the Bavarian State Opera, Tosca at Deutsche Oper Berlin and Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Regio di Parma. In the 2026/27 season, she makes her debut at La Scala in Milan as Lady Macbeth and sings the role at the Vienna State Opera. She will subsequently perform Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda and Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at the Bavarian State Opera. Further debuts will take her to the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia as Vitellia, the Theater an der Wien as Ermione, and the Grand Théâtre de Genève as Minnie in La fanciulla del west. She will also sing Abigaille at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl.
Born in Florence, Bartoli completed her opera-focused vocal studies at the Verona Conservatory in 2016. Her first stage appearance was as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Ristori in Verona. Her interests beyond music include skydiving and metal music.
