Programme Change: Florian Boesch in »Winterreise« instead of Günther Groissböck
News |
In his place, Florian Boesch—who is currently rehearsing *Herzog Blaubarts Burg * at the theater—will perform Franz Schubert’s *Winterreise *. Florian Boesch’s immense artistic range always promises intelligent, moving, and breath-taking musical theater. Whether on the opera stage or in the art song—a genre in which he is now among the greatest interpreters: it is always about exploring not only the musical facets, but also an engagement with people and humanity itself.
With him, music and language truly interdepend, complement each other, and become one. Schubert’s *Winterreise* in particular, which ranks among the cornerstones of music history, is an ideal arena for exploring his art of interpretation. The fact that Malcolm Martineau is on stage—a pianist who, in the depth of his interpretation, his nuanced touch, and his dramatic sensibility, is among the greatest of our time, the anticipation grows even greater.
