Timur Zangiev

Timur Zangiev has recently emerged as one of the most exciting and sought-after conductors of his generation. Although only 30 years old, he has already collaborated with numerous international orchestras and conducted more than 50 operas.

Current and future engagements have taken, or will take, him to the Semperoper in Dresden (Otello), Zurich Opera (Roméo et Juliette), La Scala in Milan (Eugene Onegin), the Metropolitan Opera in New York (Eugene Onegin), Hamburg State Opera (The Queen of Spades), the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia (Eugene Onegin), as well as to Berlin, Geneva, Lyon and Parma.

Past highlights include The Gambler at the Salzburg Festival, Eugene Onegin at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, The Queen of Spades at La Scala in Milan and The Tale of Tsar Saltan in Brussels. He is also appearing as a concert conductor with internationally renowned ensembles.

Timur Zangiev made his debut at the Vienna State Opera with the revival of The Queen of Spades, and will return in the current season for performances of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Eugene Onegin in May 2026.
