Nathan Brock

Canadian Nathan Brock is an internationally renowned conductor who performs regularly with many of the world’s leading orchestras, opera houses and ballet companies. After finishing his studies in Zürich, he began his career as Resident Conductor of the Montreal Symphony where he won multiple awards for his innovative programming, performances and outreach activity.  

In 2015, he returned to Europe as Kapellmeister and deputy Music Director at the Hamburgische Staatsoper. There Nathan Brock conducted mostly operatic repertoire but also began his association with John Neumeier and the Hamburg Ballet. Mr Brock’s upcoming debuts include the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, Bayerisches Staatsballett, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Ballet de l’Opéra national du Capitole, Lithuanian National Ballet and return engagements with the Danish Philharmonic Orchestra, Dutch National Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Czech National Ballet and Hamburg. 

Since 2011, he has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with the National Ballet of Canada, conducting over 100 performances. During the COVID-lockdowns, Nathan Brock won the graduating fellowship in the Executive MBA class of 2021 at The Rotman School of Management in Toronto. This path has led him, in parallel to conducting, to consult internationally for a broad variety of businesses. In the 2026/27 season, he is conducting John Neumeier’s choreography of Nijinsky at Vienna State Ballett and gives his house debut at the Vienna State Opera.
