Najmiddin Mavlyanov

Tenor Najmiddin Mavlyanov studied voice in his hometown of Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and later at the conservatory in Tashkent. He made his debut in 2009 as Alvaro in La forza del destino at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in Moscow.

His repertoire includes Edgardo, Ismaele, Manrico, Alfredo, Radames, Riccardo, Don José, Rodolfo, Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, Dick Johnson, Luigi in Il tabarro, Calaf, Lenski, Count Vaudémont in Iolanta, Hermann in Pique Dame and Števa in Jenůfa. He has also sung the title roles in Don Carlo, Otello, Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Werther.

His engagements have taken him to the Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Semperoper, La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. He has also performed in Geneva, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Sydney and Tokyo. Recent appearances include Don Carlo and Cavaradossi at Deutsche Oper Berlin; Pollione in Norma and Cavaradossi at the Bavarian State Opera; Hermann in Hamburg; and Sergei in Lady Macbeth von Mzensk at La Scala.
