Born in Karlsruhe, Constantin Trinks has conducted at many of Europe’s leading opera houses and festivals, including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London, the Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Oper Leipzig, Theater an der Wien, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Semperoper Dresden, New National Theatre Tokyo and the Opéra national de Paris. His repertoire comprises more than 30 operas, including Der Ring des Nibelungen, Parsifal, Lohengrin, Tristan und Isolde, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Salome, Don Giovanni and Die Zauberflöte.

From 2009 to 2012, he served as Music Director at the Staatstheater Darmstadt. Recent highlights include Die Frau ohne Schatten and Lohengrin in Berlin, Siegfried in Leipzig, Tannhäuser and Der Ring des Nibelungen in Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as Die Zauberflöte at Glyndebourne in the United Kingdom.

In the 2025/26 season, he made his debuts at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest. He conducted new productions at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Theater an der Wien and Oper Leipzig, and also returned to the Bavarian State Opera.

Highlights of the 2026/27 season include Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Arabella at the Vienna State Opera, Salome at the Opéra de Lyon, as well as appearances with the Essener Philharmoniker and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. Constantin Trinks made his Vienna State Opera debut in 2014.
