Declaration of accessibility

We endeavor to make our website accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act as amended to implement the European Accessibility Directive (Directive 2019/882) on the accessibility requirements for products and services.

The Web Content Accessibility Guideline - WCAG 2.2 was complied with as far as possible.

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.wiener-staatsoper.at/

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible:

- Our videos lack transcripts and, in some cases, subtitles, so the spoken content is not available for deaf users. This means that WCAG success criterion 9.1.2.3 (Audio description or full text alternative for videos) and 9.1.2.2 (Recorded videos with subtitles) are not met.

- On some pages there is no h1 heading, which means that there is no meaningful sequence (WCAG success criterion 9.1.3.2).

- The logos of individual sponsors are sometimes very difficult to recognize. This is due to the default graphics and cannot be rectified (WCAG success criterion 9.1.4.3).

- A few production titles are too long on the calendar page. These cannot wrap correctly responsively on smaller resolutions and are therefore visually cut off (WCAG success criterion 9.1.4.10).

- Moving content (videos) in the header area of a production cannot be paused (WCAG success criterion 9.2.2.2).

- In some places, the HTML syntax for the visual display of shifted text passages is not correctly adhered to due to the web design (WCAG success criterion 9.4.1.1).

- Inline frame elements (iframes) for the display of Spotify playlists do not have a title attribute (WCAG success criterion 9.4.1.1).

Creation of the accessibility statement

This statement was created on the basis of an assessment carried out by a third party (Getdesigned GmbH) in February 2026
