Nicola Alaimo
Nicola Alaimo studied singing in his hometown of Palermo and began his stage career at the Ravenna Festival as Luna in Il trovatore. His early engagements included appearances in Bergamo, Palermo and Ravenna, as well as at the Maggio Musicale in Florence, in addition to Jago in Otello in Salzburg, Germont in La traviata at the Ravenna Festival and at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome.
In 2009 he made his United States debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Simon Boccanegra, followed shortly thereafter by his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, again in Simon Boccanegra. Of particular importance is his collaboration with the Rossini Opera Festival, where he made his debut in La cenerentola.
Further career highlights include Don Pasquale at La Scala in Milan, in Madrid and Rome, La cenerentola at the Paris Opéra and the Salzburg Festival, and Guillaume Tell in Munich, Lyon and Amsterdam.
Engagements in the 2025/26 season include Falstaff in Dresden, La rondine at the Royal Opera House in London, Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, I masnadieri at the Opéra de Marseille, and La cenerentola at the Paris Opéra.
