Gyeongtaek Lee
South Korean pianist Gyeongtaek Lee studied master's degree in Liedgestaltung with Christian Gerhaher, Gerold Huber and Donald Sulzen at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich, completed his concert exam in Liedgestaltung with Burkhard Kehring at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Hamburg and postgraduate studies with Markus Hadulla at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
In 2021, he won the Prix de Mélodie with soprano Flore Van Meerssche at the International Competition of the Centre international Nadia et Lili Boulanger in Paris. He was also awarded scholarships from the International Festivals LIEDBasel and Leeds Lieder in 2022. In 2023, he won third prize at the International Helmut Deutsch Lied Competition, as well as the Elise Meyer Prize for Vocal Accompaniment and the Robert Ellis Crawford Prize for Song Art.
During the 2023/24 season, he was a fellow at the Académie Orsay-Royaumont, where he regularly performed at the Musée d'Orsay and recorded a live album for the French label B-Records. He also gave a concert with bass-baritone Jeeyoung Lim on the French national radio station France Musique.
During the 2023/24 season, he worked as a guest répétiteur at the Bavarian State Opera, the Vienna State Opera and the Munich Chamber Opera, and took part in a performance of Schubert songs as part of Lee Ming Wei's participatory exhibition at the Munich State Museum Villa Stuck.
He has been a member of the Studio of the Vienna State Opera as a répétiteur since the 2024/25 season.
