Eleonora Buratto is among the most important Italian sopranos of today and performs regularly on the world’s most renowned stages—from New York’s Metropolitan Opera to La Scala in Milan, the Teatro Real, the Opera di Roma, the Bavarian State Opera, and the Vienna State Opera.

In 2022 she was awarded the title Cavaliere al Merito della Repubblica Italiana. She received the Abbiati Prize from the Italian Association of Music Critics as “Best Singer of the Year 2021,” and from the trade journal Opernwelt—becoming the first Italian singer to receive this distinction—the title of “Best Singer of the Year 2025.”

A decisive influence on Eleonora Buratto’s artistic development was her collaboration with Riccardo Muti, under whose direction she sang roles such as Susanna in Mercadante’s I due Figaro, Norina in Don Pasquale, Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, Alice in Falstaff, Contessa d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and Aida, and appeared in numerous concerts and gala events.

Her artistic activities in 2025 included, among others, Mimì in La Bohème at the Metropolitan Opera; the Verdi Requiem with the Staatskapelle Dresden under Daniele Gatti; Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly at the Easter Festival in Baden-Baden; a concert performance of the same opera at the Berlin Philharmonie under Kirill Petrenko; Elisabetta in Roberto Devereux at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia (Spain); Tosca at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (Italy); the Verdi Requiem at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda; Alice at the season opening of the Semperoper Dresden under Daniele Gatti; Tosca at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma; a concert in the Roman Basilica of San Paolo fuori le mura as part of the Jubilee celebrations of 2025; and Madama Butterfly at the Vienna State Opera.

Engagements for 2026 include, among others, Elettra in Idomeneo at the Vienna State Opera; Micaëla in Carmen at the Bavarian State Opera; her debut as Leonora in Il trovatore at the Hamburg State Opera; two concert performances of Simon Boccanegra in Munich and Budapest; and a major European tour (together with Elīna Garanča and Benjamin Bernheim) conducted by Daniele Gatti with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.

Her debut solo album Indomita (Pentatone) was released in April 2025.
