Elena Maximova

ELENA MAXIMOVA completed her vocal studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and was engaged as a soloist at the Stanislavsky Music Theatre in Moscow.

She has appeared on major international stages: at the Metropolitan Opera in New York as Olga (Eugene Onegin), Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) and Polina (The Queen of Spades); at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London as Carmen (Carmen), Olga and Maddalena (Rigoletto); at La Scala in Milan as Carmen, Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Polina and Sonjetka (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk); at the Opéra National de Paris as Maddalena and Preziosilla (La forza del destino); at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich as Carmen, Maddalena, Olga, Federica (Luisa Miller), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) and Orlofsky; at the Staatsoper Berlin as Azucena (Il trovatore) and Maddalena; at the Semperoper Dresden as Carmen, Preziosilla, Eboli (Don Carlo), Melibea (Il viaggio a Reims) and Angelina (La Cenerentola); at the Hamburg State Opera as Federica and Azucena; at Deutsche Oper Berlin as Preziosilla; at Teatro Real in Madrid as Fenena (Nabucco); in Valencia as Carmen and Polina; at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence as Carmen and Preziosilla; at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo as Carmen; in Rome as Polina; in Amsterdam as Olga; at Zurich Opera House as Preziosilla, Maddalena and Orlofsky; at Theater an der Wien as the Dueña in Betrothal in a Monastery; in Sydney as Dulcinée (Don Quichotte) and Charlotte (Werther); and at the New National Theatre Tokyo as Charlotte and Carmen.

She made her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Carmen and has since appeared there as Maddalena, Olga, Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Marfa (Khovanshchina), Eboli, Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Isabella (L’italiana in Algeri), Angelina, Polina, Blanche in The Gambler, Charlotte and Orlofsky.
