Amartuvshin Enkhbat

Operalia winner Amartusvhin Enkhbat is now among the most sought-after baritones internationally and appears regularly and with great success on the world’s leading stages, including Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Bavarian and Berlin State Operas, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the Arena di Verona.

His 2025/26 season includes Rigoletto in San Francisco and at La Scala in Milan, Nabucco in Bonn and Vienna, Aida in Paris, Ernani in Verona, Otello in Las Palmas, Macbeth in Munich, and La traviata at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

He recently sang Scarpia (Tosca) and Don Carlo (La forza del destino) at La Scala, a role he later performed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. He made his debut at San Francisco Opera as Anckarström in Un ballo in maschera.

Other engagements have included Amonasro (Aida) in New York, Munich, Florence, Verona, and London; Carlo Gérard in Andrea Chénier in Lyon and Genoa; Giorgio Germont in La traviata in Berlin; the title role in Rigoletto in Vienna, Hamburg, and Trieste; Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana) and Tonio (Pagliacci) at La Scala; Macbeth at the Bavarian State Opera; and Nabucco at Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Born in Mongolia, Amartusvhin Enkhbat began his singing career in Ulaanbaatar as a soloist at the State Academic Theatre and previously completed his studies at the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture. In his homeland he was honoured with the title of People’s Artist and in Italy he received the prestigious Ettore Bastianini Prize.
