Seika Ishida is the prizewinner of numerous international piano competitions, including the Zhuhai International Mozart Piano Competition in China and the 3rd Bechstein Bruckner Competition in Austria. She has received further awards at the Rosario Marciano and the Bösendorfer Competition in Austria, the International Piano Competition – Istanbul Orchestra’Sion and in Italy (Livorno).
As a soloist, she has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists and Orchestra’Sion, collaborating with conductors including Andrew Litton, Hans Graf, Lavard Skou Larsen and Orçun Orçunsel. Her recent debut appearances comprise performances at the Victoria Concert Hall Singapore, the Brucknerhaus Linz and the Musikverein Vienna.
She completed her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2024, where she earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Piano under Anna Malikova. She previously obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with highest distinction. Her main teachers were Yuko Yamane, Masahi Katayama and the late Hiroko Nakamura.
Her repertoire includes works from the Baroque period to contemporary music as well as more than 20 piano concertos. Concert tours have taken her throughout Europe, the United States and Asia; performances with the Webern Symphony Orchestra were broadcast by the Austrian public broadcaster ORF. Alongside her solo career, she teaches regularly at Le Conservatoire Wien and gives masterclasses.
Since October 2025, she has been working as a répétiteur with the Vienna State Ballet.
