After graduating from the Zagreb Academy of Music in 2011, Marko Mimica took part in the renowned Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival in the same year, marking the beginning of his international career. From 2011 to 2016, he was a member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
His engagements for the 2025/26 season include the Four Villains in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Opéra de Lyon, Alfonso d’Este in Lucrezia Borgia at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Ferrando in Il trovatore at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Wurm in Luisa Miller at the Vienna State Opera, Assur in Rossini’s Semiramide at the Liceu in Barcelona, and King Marke in Tristan und Isolde at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga.
Most recently, he made his debut at the Berlin State Opera as Simon Boccanegra, sang the premiere of Macbeth at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, appeared in Zelmira at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, and performed I Lombardi alla prima crociata at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
He is a regular guest at leading international venues including the Paris Opéra, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Royal Opera House in London, the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, ABAO Bilbao Opera, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Sydney Opera House, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Teatro Regio di Parma, and the Semperoper Dresden.
He has also appeared at major festivals such as Pesaro, the Arena di Verona, the BBC Proms, Tsinandali, and Edinburgh, where he has been acclaimed for his interpretative versatility. In addition, he enjoys a successful international career on the concert platform.
