Markus Henn, born in Wiesbaden, studied piano and conducting, among other institutions at the Royal Academy of Music in London. His career initially took him to the opera houses of Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Dresden, and later also to the Bad Orb Opera Festival.

As a conductor, he has led productions including Hansel and Gretel, Don Giovanni, La bohème, The Merry Wives of Windsor and Die Fledermaus, as well as numerous ballets and concerts. His repertoire spans the entire breadth of opera history, from the Baroque to contemporary works.

Since 2019, Markus Henn has served as Head of Stage Music at the Vienna State Opera.
