Arturo Chacón Cruz, a native of Sonora, Mexico, performs on many of the world’s most prestigious stages and in leading concert halls, from La Scala in Milan to Carnegie Hall in New York. His repertoire comprises more than 60 roles, primarily from the Italian and French repertoire.

His recent engagements include Manrico in Il trovatore at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and in San Francisco, the title role in Les Contes d’Hoffmann in Las Palmas, Oronte in I lombardi in Monte-Carlo, Jacopo Foscari in I due Foscari in Paris, performances in Puccini’s Trittico in Houston, Don Carlo with Maryland Lyric Opera at the renowned Strathmore Hall, Werther at the Stuttgart State Opera as well as in Liège and Buenos Aires, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor in Los Angeles, Gustavo III in Un ballo in maschera in Maryland and Barcelona, Cavaradossi in Tosca in Pamplona and with Florida Grand Opera in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the concert series Noche Española with Plácido Domingo at the Arena di Verona, a concert at the Chorégies d’Orange, Don José in Carmen in Las Palmas, Palermo, León and Montréal, the Duke in Rigoletto in Mexico, Rodolfo in La Bohème in Palermo, and Alfredo in La traviata in New York.

He has also collaborated with Sofia Coppola on a production of La traviata featuring exclusive costumes designed by Valentino, and with Woody Allen on Gianni Schicchi.
